Rene Quinton seawater medicine

I used Quinton in my Ibiza clinic and I am considering bringing it back in to practice on the Naturo dispensary for its vast use in hydration and cell detoxification.

Excerpt below is from renowned Stem cell, Regenerative medicine and chronic pain expert- Dr An.

"Have you heard of Rene Quinton? I honestly can’t believe I’ve been a doctor this long without hearing his name. This man saved thousands of lives in France and Europe by using seawater called Quinton Water.

Rene Quinton was a French physiologist who discovered that marine water from a certain part of the ocean had almost identical salt and mineral composition as human plasma. He perfected the filtration technique by cold processing this marine water and cured diseases in thousands of people. He also experimented on animal models and replace dog’s plasma with Quinton water and the dog recovered without any issue within a day. At the time when many people were dying from infections, sepsis, he saved thousands of lives using this marine water. There also have been documented cases for cancer, leukemia and multiple sclerosis.

There are two types of concentration for Quinton water: Hypertonic and Isotonic.

Hypertonic solution is the pure unaltered form of ocean water. It has all the trace minerals and salts in it’s purest, most natural form. It is mineralizing and has an almost immediate invigorating effect. I drink a shot of it in the morning instead of coffee, and when I feel the afternoon energy dip coming in, I take a shot of it. It has also been essential when I travel by air, as it takes much of travel fatigue away.

The isotonic solution has the mineral and salt concentration most identical to blood plasma. Because of it, it is also called Quinton Plasma. Quinton plasma can also be injected subcutaneously, or intravenously as well. For a while, I was taking care of a church friend who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Since adding Quinton Water to her treatment, she had more energy and a better appetite.

You can read more about this amazing water here.

Quinton Water comes in 30, 10ml vials which I use for traveling and also in 1-liter glass jars which is far more economical. Vials are $45 and a 1-liter jar is $95. If you’d like to pick up from the office, call 813-463-6279.

Stay in touch,

Dr. An.

@NM-Maya @NM-Megan this is the sea water I was referring to in a conversation not sure who it was with but would love to know your feedback? I listened to a podcast where a guy increased is bone density x12 after developing arthritis with these. I used Quicksilver as a supplier in Ibiza and have a few client still taking these.

Hi Chloe,

I’ve been revisiting Quinton (marine plasma) as a possible addition to the dispensary, and I think it could be a useful support tool in the right context—particularly for clients who are depleted, reactive, or struggling with hydration and electrolyte balance. I’ve also heard about it in podcasts and from Chris Shade.

Quinton is essentially a filtered seawater solution that provides a broad spectrum of minerals in a naturally balanced form. The isotonic version, in particular, mirrors the osmotic concentration of blood plasma, so it can support extracellular hydration, electrolyte signalling, and nervous system stability without being overly stimulating.

Where I see it fitting best is in clients who are:

  • Low in vitality or “flat” (often post-viral, mould-affected, or chronically stressed)

  • Struggling with fluid regulation (swelling, dehydration, poor lymphatic flow)

  • Highly sensitive and not tolerating more complex supplements

It can be helpful as a foundational support to improve cellular hydration and help the body regulate fluid movement more effectively—particularly through the interstitial space and lymphatics.

That said, I think it’s really important we position it correctly.

In many of our clients, the core issue isn’t just hydration or mineral deficiency—it’s blocked drainage and poor flow:

  • Sluggish or congested bile

  • Impaired lymphatic movement

  • Tight or restricted fascia

  • Dysregulated nervous system

Quinton may support these systems indirectly by improving the terrain, but it won’t resolve those blockages on its own.

So clinically, I would see it as:

  • A supportive layer, not a primary intervention

  • Something to use alongside drainage work, not instead of it

  • Most useful either before we go deeper (to stabilise the system), or during protocols to improve tolerance

In terms of use:

  • Isotonic form for daily support and sensitive clients

  • Hypertonic more short-term or for fatigue dips (used more cautiously)

Overall, I think it’s a gentle, low-risk addition that could improve resilience and help some clients respond better to treatment—but only if we’re still addressing the underlying drivers at the same time.

Let me know your thoughts—happy to map out where it could sit within within what we do

Megan
