For many of us EO were the root into herbal medicine.
I studied aromatherapy as part of my CIDESCO Diploma of Aesthetics (a fancy way of saying top beauty therapy qualification). The prestige college, off Regent Street, London, was more like finishing school! Aromatherapy class reflected this atmosphere, it was pompous, sterile and black and white.
Taught as a science and unlike herbal medicine, in my experience it has never become an art. Even though I have advised beauty brands on EO content and blends, my experience has been to use with caution and never internally.

In 2019 I interviewed top aromatherapist, scientist and teacher Michael Scholes for insights on EO’s clinical use. EO’s are the most potent form of a herb and alike tinctures, are deemed effective for every condition. For anyone looking to use EO internally or topically, please source quality oils and information from the master himself at labofflowers.com
